Crime. Cocktails. Questionable life choices.

Some stories are best told over a drink. Preferably one served in a historic hotel where the walls have probably heard worse.

On Wednesday, March 4 at 5 p.m., I’ll be speaking at the Totally Criminal Cocktail Hour in Stillwater, talking about my latest thriller, Killer Instinct—the third book in the Cade Dawkins series. It’s an evening built for readers who enjoy dark stories, sharp twists, and the comforting knowledge that the crimes discussed are fictional.

Killer Instinct follows Minnesota detective Cade Dawkins as he races to stop a rogue assassin with nothing left to lose—while media pressure, political fallout, and a rising body count threaten to turn the hunt into something far more personal. It’s fast, tense, and occasionally wickedly funny… which makes it a surprisingly good pairing with cocktails.

Books will be available for purchase, and I’ll be signing copies after the talk—no blood spatter analysis required.

The event takes place at the beautifully historic Lowell Inn, a fitting backdrop for an evening devoted to crime fiction and bad decisions made responsibly.
