Inkwell Story Lab: Monthly Writers Group
Join the Inkwell Story Lab, a monthly writers group for authors at any stage—from curious beginners to published pros. Hosted by Allan Evans, Minnesota author and founder of Stillwater Story House.
Each session includes a short craft spark, focused writing time, and optional discussion. No pressure to share, no critiques unless invited. Just a room full of people getting words on the page in a cozy bookstore setting.
Bring your current project, a notebook, or a messy first draft. Let’s build stories together at Inkwell!
Centennial Band Booster Holiday Bazaar
The Centennial Band Craft Fair has become one of my favorite annual events—and one I’ve been attending for years. I originally signed up to support my nephew Matt, who was a member of the Centennial band. Matt has since graduated and become a Cornhusker, but I keep coming back because this is simply one of the best craft fairs of the season.
Join me for a day of holiday shopping, talented local makers, and community spirit. I’ll have signed copies of my novels available, so stop by my table, talk books, and help support Centennial’s band program.

Join me at LTS Brewing Co in Rochester for an afternoon of sipping and shopping with local bookstores, authors, bookish crafters, and more. I’ll be there with copies of my books available for purchase and signing.
Come browse the books, meet local authors and makers, grab a beer, and say hello! This is a free outdoor event.

Cougar Christmas Craft Fair
Join me at the Lakeville South Cougar Craft Fair for a festive day of books, shopping, and community. I’ll be there with signed copies of my novels—perfect for the mystery and thriller readers on your holiday list.
The fair will feature a wide variety of ceramics, jewelry, woodwork, and one-of-a-kind creations from talented local artisans and vendors. Whether you’re shopping for yourself or getting a head start on holiday gifts, you’ll find something for everyone.
Best of all, the event raises funds to support Lakeville South’s band programs. Stop by, say hello, and help support a great cause!
Art Fest Craft Show
Come shop and say hello! This popular annual event features over 200 local craft vendors, attracting thousands of shoppers, typically featuring a $2 admission fee.
Lunch with Santa
Join me at 3rd Act Craft Brewery’s annual Lunch with Santa! I’ll be signing books, hanging with the big guy, and soaking up some holiday cheer. Come hang out with us yule guys! 3rd Act is a Woodbury favorite, so stop by, grab a bite, and make an afternoon of it.
Minnesota Mystery Night
Note: This is December of 2027 (but still, you should add it to your calendar now). I’ll be the featured author at Minnesota Mystery Night. This is a live, meet-the-author event featuring top mystery and thriller writers in conversation with some of the most intriguing figures from Minnesota and beyond. Reservations required.
